Giclee on canvas; Very limited edition of 12 S/N Approximately twenty years ago while visiting Ocean City, Maryland, Elisabet Stacy-Hurley was transfixed by the elegance and beauty of an antique carousel. As the carousel methodically rotated while bellowing out organ music, she realized that each person has their own personal “merry-go-round.” People often live day-to-day stuck on a merry-go-round of mindless work and routine. “Free At Last” epitomizes liberation of such restrictions and is a painting full of vivacious colors, deep meaning, and passion. Today, this carousel at Trimper’s Rides and Amusements still operates in its original location, a building along The Boardwalk. Built in 1902, this Herschell-Spillman menagerie won the National Carousel Association 1996 Historic Carousel Award.
